We have seen in our own lifetimes that a government that gets an extended period of time in power become disjointed, less effective and complacent. I am seeing this yet again and I would more than welcome a change. But to who?
An election tomorrow would almost certainly see the Tories come out as the 3rd party due to the damage their deceitful, incompetent fool in charge has done. But that would mean that there would be no overall majority, with Labour coming out on top and the Lib/Dems (and the odd Independent) taking the Tory vote. And what use would that be to the nation.
And it is still 2 years and 4 months until the next election and a lot will happen. Bumbling Boris will be long gone, the figures on the economy (probably fiddled of course) will show we were right by Brexit and peoples memories will have forgotten the lock down parties. Regarding that lets not forget half of the UK were having them anyway so they arent going to think Boris was doing anything wrong werent they.
I'd love there to be a strong alternative to this shoddy Tory government which can make an overall majority on May 2024 but I really cant see it looking through the ranks of the parties.
