Jon Oh yeah, that’s a great bike vid...Would have loved to have either gone on the Crystal Days thing or the gig at Sefton Park, when they played on the lake.

fulmine I toyed with going to the Buxton Pavilion gig, it was free, coach travel from Leeds you just had to wear combat gear. I don't know how many did. Not sure why i didn't go in the end. Probably didn't fancy it on my tod and mates were into punk shit.

Foxy_Dread Oh man. Wish I'd been that bit older. That said, I probably wouldn't have met the two mates who turned me onto The Bunnymen.

They were such a cool looking band, I'd of had o problem with the camo and probably wouldn't have got into football or at least hanging around on the fringes of football's more unsavoury side. Such is life.

I haven't bought a music bio in ages, looking forward to this.

Foxy_Dread That’s really triggered off pangs from my youth, being torn because I really wanted to go to a gig but couldn’t persuade any mates to go with me. Sniff. I remember getting some camo gear from Millets, had a jacket a bit like Mac’s that I used to wear with these plastic black moccasins (and white socks, natch).

I've just recalled it was also a mystery venue. You had to book and turn up for the coaches that were setting off from various cities.

Cult bands back then, and I’d call the Bunnymen a cult band at that stage, would be top ten at Least these days. I don’t think they’d broke the top 40 when I first saw them selling out the Uni. Same goes for The Waterboys.

Strange thing about The Bunnymen, I had a harder time getting someone to go see them at their most popular than I did before they broke.

Cope reckons they nicked the camo thing from The Teardrops.

I went to see them on my own at Cleopatra's in Huddersfield a reggae club. I was 17 and went to the venue early-ish about 10.15. Not much sign of life the bloke on the door said it was off, the band had turned up but their cables weren't long enough. At least I didn't have to hitch/walk home. I had been going with a lass but she bailed late on.
