It was a mid-week evening back in the summer of 1984 , we’d often have home and away games of football with other lads we knew from town , going to leeds games home and away and millhill amusements, one evening we went up to the football fields opposite the shaftesbury pub on york rd to play the lads from east end park they were all mates the eldest jimmo granger mentioned regularly on here was out that evening with wuggie (casuals book photos) , jimmo had just written a letter to the face and to go with the letter hed turned up to our game of football with wuggie to photograph us , i remember it well around 20 of us in two lines like a football team photo , no labels just crew necks , jeans and cords with adidas trainers or suedes , unfortunately i’ve just found out the photo never developed “shame” it would of been a belter , but the letter to the face from jimmo of LS9 east end park was sent , here it is

hendersonjones Think they played at Stamford Bridge before a game (or at half-time).
My first job after leaving school was working in a now long-gone department store just off Oxford Circus, in the warehouse. Leeds lad I worked with used to don these flares with a sewn-in white panel every time he went off to see them (this was 85-86).

First I heard of them was on an Amazon Prime documentary.
I can`t add the link, but if you type Casuals into Amazon, it comes up, from 2015.

Weren't they on the cover of the NME or Sounds? With one of them holding those big tennis rackets they had in sports shops.
