Everyone should post whatever they want when it's their turn. I for my own curiousity want to know if the person considers it essential, whatever they answer, that is the end of it. It's not a judgement question.
With regards my take on 'essential' which i've said before, there are shit loads of LPs which will be essential which I don't like. Death Metal LPs, some of them must be the pick of a relatively popular genre and that makes them essential. I am unable to judge this genre. If I don't take this approach how can I sincerely believe that some Cabaret Voltaire LPs are essential, as the pick of industrial music. In my view, LPs can be essential by genre or period, I don't have to like them all but I can respect people's right to choose them. So we shouldn't get too hung up on people's picks, we should try to listen to them (sorry to the four people whose selection I must listen to), and just let it go wherever it takes us.
EEP, if people want me too, I could do the admin for a Film version. Though i'd say trying music is simple enough, forcing yourself to watch a film that you are pretty sure you won't like is another matter. If the will is there, the admin is simple. I'd suggest one a fortnight perhaps.
