Bit a compliation of songs from the same artists is surely a best of...?

I was more interested in a Live album viewpoint, but the response took it down a compliation route.
Johnny Cash Live at Folsom Prison is the first example that springs to my mind for the opinions as to whether or not it is deemed essential.

Best-selling album of '76 in the US. 3 top-15 singles. 10 weeks at number 1 on the Billboard Chart. And it's live.

I suspect even Frampton fans would struggle to name his other albums!
