At the moment it isn't set up to predict a finish, just what level a team is performing too based on XG. It takes no account of points in the bag etc, it is dominated by last seasons data but is infused with this season's.

So Leeds are 14th, but with the points in the bag you'd be thinking say 11th 12th, being sensibly conservative. Man Utd currently 9th with no tweaking for results.

So when I say Leicester could be deep in trouble it is based mostly on last seasons data, not the poor start they have made.

Anchor Forest, Bournemouth and Fulham are rated on this year's performances to date. So tiny amount of data but three teams have dicked Forest on XG so far. Take Everton v Forest, the Everton XG dominance is at the level you would expect them to achieve against one of the league's lesser team.

Cooper might be in the mould of Dyche and be able to defy the wisdom of XG for seasons on end, so don't worry.

Watched the highlights last night and something occurred to me.
Would even Liverpool fans be comfortable watching that?
The gap between the mid/top end of the PL and the Championship is a chasm these days.
The disparity in terms of finances and resource is ever widening, to the point of almost being a piss take when you see games like that.
The PL is rapidly turning into an all round shit show and has been for sometime now.

However, in a world where you now need to get close to, or over 90 points to win the league, plus score lots of goals, and our start has been shocking so far, that result was exactly what we needed.

Don't get me started on Manchester City.

As already stated, the gap between top and bottom is embarrassing and I don't envy any team that isn't owned by Saudi murderers, corrupt oligarchs or whoever, trying to compete. I look at Leeds and just think: "Can we get to 40 points (or more) as quickly as possible, and maybe cause a couple of upsets along the way?" Most of the time, it's just not fun.

Bournemouth were a fairly steady side before they went down. They look a bit shell-shocked at the moment. Have they got rich owners?
