Travis_Bickle Kevin_Stapleton as near as it gets.... Of all of the ex-players, Sidebottom was the one that still has some pace. Very quick even off a shorter and slower run up. Jacques Snyman hit some massive sixes and retired on 126. Fared better than Kirk Stevens who copped for a golden! Hugo Hammond, disabled cricketer who's been on Love Island apparently, was a star. Great with the kids doing fielding drills and games. it was a brilliant day. I wasn't drinking but there will be some very sore heads today...
Kevin_Stapleton Anchor Good arras. It's obvious now you mention it. That Middlesex team from the late 70s is etched in my mind - Brearley, Butcher, Batting, Smith, Radley, Edmonds, Emburey, Downton, Selvey, Daniel, Van der Bijle....
Djpekingman Kevin_Stapleton Ha ha ha - Gatting I presume not batting. I'll never forget the look on his face when Warne bowled him with that one that turned almost 90 degrees.
Djpekingman Anchor Fucking Chris Tavare formerly of Kent? Possibly the most boring cricketer ever. Made Boycott look positively progressive. I think his ploy was to bore the West Indians to death.
Travis_Bickle Anchor old. Still got the ball to move though. We used to muck about leaving delivery after delivery with bat raised high shouting 'Tavare' when we played as kids. We'd also stay rooted at the crease, hand outstretched shouting 'waiting'. He was painful to watch.
Djpekingman Raposa Knott's stretching and bending antics behind the wicket were always worth a watch....
Raposa Djpekingman Seem to recall him always having his handkerchief protruding from his trouser pocket by way of superstition?
CBIT Bastard chrome has disabled espncricinfo as an extension , anyone got any recommendations for an alternative ?
