We seem to have hit an impasse. No-one has posted, Foxy is silent, and it's well past the deadline.
I suspect there are a lot of sweaty palms out there in OMJ land waiting for someone to make a move. I was reminded of this album the other day, and as I haven't had a go yet (through my own choice), I thought I'd chuck this into the bear-pit.
Buzzcock's - Singles Going Steady, more specifically the original 1979 version, not the 2001 re-release with extra tracks.
I appreciate that the purists might throw their arms in the air as this is a compilation of singles, rather than being mainly original tracks, but when I think of an album as being essential, I associate it with being something that I'm keen to listen to most, if not all of. The original album is, as the youth might say, pretty much all thrilla and no filla, while the re-release with the extra tracks detracts from this.
