I don't think that the current situation will change the viewpoints of my fellow OMJer's.
Those that sit on one side of the fence won't be induced to move to the other side by the current slaughter. Those that like to see blood will see enough in the next few weeks to last a few lifetimes.
For my two penneth, i'd say that the fair solution is that Israel should be required to move their boundaries back to the 1949 version of the country. For that they get Gaza, and an unbroken land mass.
In return, a clearly defined, self governing and sovereign Palestine (basically the West Bank) should be created, allowing them full control & governance of their borders and air space.
Jerusalem should be made an 'multi religious city of globally historic importance', and governed by a Council of 18; 3 Jews, 3 Christians, 3 Muslims, 3 Hindus, 3 Sikhs and 3 atheists, with a revolving leadership of the Council. All holy sites should be treated with equal respect and reverence. No one group should be held in higher or lower esteem than any other.
If, after all this has been created there is trouble, then the matter is dealt with fairly and without favour by international law and an impartial UN.
It won't happen, and i don't see it stopping until basically Israel has taken all the land it wants from the Med to the mountains. And even then, that won't be enough for some.
