Placid To be fair the Iranian revolution was possibly the first populist revolution. The US, UK and French backed Shah was universally hated by the Iranian populace, due to their cruelty and grift. They thought the Islamic revolution offered something new and clean. Turned out that they were just another bunch of rabble rousing cunts, whose grip on power was consolidated using the same murdering bastards the Shah used.
Trump is doing the same in the US as are Orban and Putin. The populist fuckwit Farage will do the same to the UK. Seems all a 'leader' these days needs are a few slogans and the ability to identify the weak for abuse.
