I said to my kids other day, dont take peoples word for it, go and have a look.

I honestly think that Hamas didn't plan on it being as "successful" as it was. No one expected the IDF to be on holiday and so unprepared.

Jon I think the expectation was that most of the attackers would be slaughtered and the few that survived would bring back a few hostages. I think the murder sprees that occurred were mostly because the attackers had ran out of orders having found themselves unexpectedly unopposed.

I'm not sure what part you have difficulty with. The idea that the attacks were far more successful than anything conceived by the planners is something that's been mooted by many military analysts. It's not something I've pulled out of my arse. Hamas hoped that the IDF would move forces towards Lebanon but not to leave their southern borders as empty as they did. I don't think anyone thought the attacks would be as unopposed as they were.

Apparently, if you spend 3 generations stealing housing and property from people living on their own ancestral land, some of them get angry and even murderous. I don't agree with that but I can understand it.

Chopper_Read Netanyahu goes. The solutions offered by people like Ehud Olnlmert and others are properly negotiated.
Palestinians stop their genocidal indoctrination of hatred of Jews to their children.
And all parties work for peace.
Seeing this as an 'Israel' problem ignores thousands of years of history and beliefs.

It was hatred unleashed, definitely. I don't think it was the entire outcome that was planned. The forces went in completely unopposed and had little military response. Hatred took over. And yes it was wrong, but I don't think it was the actual plan.
