Supermarkets have Canadian flags on those prodtxd . Us goods being hidden on the bottom shelves .
Canada -US flights down 70% .
Ontario premier Doug Ford ( bit of a loose cannon, truth be told )pulled electricity supplies to the 3 bordering states of Ontario until Trump U- turned .
My in laws are selling their place in d Florida as are thousands of others .

Travis_Bickle Plenty of friends have done likewise. Lots of business trips being changed to zoom calls. Plenty of horror stories of Canadians and dealings with ICE. My sister in law sent an image of the normally packed US Immigration zone at Pearson Airport in Toronto and it was desolate. 7am peak travel time.

Trump has been a blessing in disguise for the Liberals though. The Conservatives were looking at a landslide victory. Trudeau is a very good international ambassador for Canada but has been an awful leader. He's been very inspiring since resigning & Carney has been able to come in and unite the country around a fight with Trump , visits to steel factories in Hamilton, wearing the national hockey jersey ...

On a brighter note, I'm due to fly back next month for the next step in my citizenship. 🙂

Normally have our "big" holiday in Florida Keys each year, but going somewhere not America next year.
It's all a bit strange as our Daughter lives in Virginia, as she married a Yank last year.
Wife will still be going there to see our Grandson there, but will be cheap and cheerful.

YoungParisian_inExile Day to day same as ever. My boss isn’t as vocal as he was during the first go round and the Cuban’s holding out for $10k he’s says we’re all getting from all the savings on account of a tik tok video he saw. Been a fair bit of turnover at work so it’s a different cast of characters to try gauge sentiment from.
I don’t have a social life so I’ve no idea how anyone else feels. Our town is Dem but not overwhelmingly so. Not as many lawn signs as in previous years.

Entertaining watching the septics in indo china these past months. Bizarre behaviour as some were openly apologising for their government and having not done enough to prevent his election, others were saying there were Canadian to avoid the inevitable tirade of abuse. I didn't meet any who were Maga.

I see he's whacked 25% tariffs on cars. I can't really see that affecting the UK as the UK only ships top end stuff to the US (with the exception of a few BMW minis. The folk that can afford Rollers, Bentleys, Astons and Mclarens aren't really going to be affected so it comes out as a kind of wealth tax by accident. Wait until they realise.....
