Djpekingman The road between Taupo and Napier. More scottish than Scotland. Even the weather is the same.
Djpekingman Remutaka summit. Only 555 metres but felt like a lot more. Maybe due to the scratcher, the boy racers and general nutters racing to the top and back. Pretty spectacular bit of road though.
Djpekingman The boat across the Cook Strait, for some reason registered in the Bahamas. Promises to be a pretty lumpy crossing.

Djpekingman Bizarre isn’t it? Our paths must have crossed literally. We’re down south now with friends for a couple days before the relentless pace of ‘ lets see everything’ resumes.
Djpekingman Blenheim and Marlborough country. The sheep have all been replaced by grape vines. They are industrial in scale which probably explains why most New Zealand wines are bland and characterless. Not much to see or do round here - pretty much everything is shut by 8.
Djpekingman Kaikoura - whale jaw bones, hardy paraffin lamps, deserted wet and freezing beaches and a blazing log fire in the irish pub. This is the height of summer. Its baltic. In our wake there has been torrential rain, landslips and death. Nice.
