Even David Crosby came to dislike David Crosby. A bit of a cunt, but a self-aware one in later years.
This is decent. As others have said, it’s over before it really gets going though. I find that whole scene really interesting, but musically very hit and miss.

Crosby is/was a tit wasn't he but I'm very familiar with this album and like but not love it. Other than Neil Young's output, still chucking out about five albums a year, my favourite by a mile of the sole CSNY lads, and a regularly spun disc round my gaff is Songs For Beginners by Graham Nash.

Harvest Quality album. My son's Scout leader is called Graham Nash. He doesn't have a transatlantic accent but he does seem like he's no stranger to smoking "miles and miles of hash" (Ryder, S. 1987).

The "be prepared" moto has never been so laden with irony.

Another great album from the CSNY/Byrds family tree is the first album by the Stephen Stills led Manassas project. It has Chris Hillman from the Byrds on it ( one of Mani's favourite bass players) and sounds mint. It's also got someone called Fuzzy Samuels on it so what's not to like?

I mean, look at them. I want to be in that band.

When my old man ended up on Whispering Bob Harris's show by accident (all he did was ring the BBC to find out the name of a song), Bob described the artist 'really stretching his legs on that one'.
We used to wet ourselves laughing at that and would use the expression all the time. We'd put on something like Dead Cities by The Exploited and say 'Wattie's really stretching his legs on that one'.
But for all piss taking, we knew what Bob meant.
It's always been easy to sneer at the music of the late 60s and into the 70s. The whole 'muso' thing. I was guilty of it when Dad would play CSNY or Jeff Beck and I'd want Discharge on. Brushed denim, ten-minute solos and premium quality 'hash'.
But it was a golden time for music. Artists were often given time and room to experiment. They were mixing up styles and influences. The whole jazz/rock fusion explosion. I'd dismissed it for years before realising just how good some of it is (you were right Dad).
Technology couldn't spare your blushes back then. You had to be able to play. Or to write songs. No MPCs, no autotune. No drum machines.
Crosby was not a nice human being. But this song is a cracker. It builds. It's big. Fine choice Fuzz.
