Leeds United still impact hugely on my life and happiness. I think their results impact me most when I wake up the next morning. I thought we put in a great shift on Wednesday and the first thing I thought about on Thursday morning was Longstaff s equaliser. I didn't get a ticket in 87 but apparently Chris Maskery (Stoke) would have got me one if we'd made the final, I'll never know.
Did Birmingham 87 v Charlton, even got a ticket outside ER for the game v Oldham in the semi. Then Villa in 96, was at the play off final v Watford
and the Doncaster game at Wembley.
I turned up in Valencia in the CL Semi and bought a ticket outside, but like CBIT maybe I'm a Jonah. Last saw the Mighty Whites live in an FA Cup game in 2023 at Fulham and the last time I was in ER was the Bristol Rovers game, with my dad. We stopped to watch the pitch invasion and he's no longer with us. Great memories of that day and money can't buy that. We'd been at the Swindon game together, where we got battered and our promotion hopes took a huge knock. Lots of lads younger than me have been going home and away for the last 10 years and they deserve their day in the sun. Strangely enough some of my best days watching Leeds were in League 1.
Trips to Wycombe, Bristol Rovers on a Friday night, Colchester, Orient and Bournemouth midweek when they were down there and Gillingham were great days out.
I'll watch it online, but I'll tell you what, I hope we fucking win.
