There's a story in the Sunday Times that Spurs have offered £6m for Delph, upfront with a one-year loan-back to Leeds (apparently Villa's offer is much more dependent on number of appearances and without loaning him back). If it's true, I'd say 'Take the money Capt Birdseye'.

Both from BBC who`ve got it from THE Sunday papers."Aston Villa look likely to land Totteham midfielder Jermaine Jenas, 26, and Villa boss Martin O'Neill will sell Nigel Reo-Coker and Craig Gardner to make room for the England international."Would they then buy Delph, maybe if Ashley Young also leaves."Spurs also lead the chase for Leeds United midfielder Fabien Delph - the highly-rated 19-year-old would cost £6m. (Sunday Times)"

Just spotted this on the Beeb:Baggies declare Beckford interestWest Bromwich Albion have declared an interest in Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford, BBC Radio Leeds understands. The 25-year-old is in the final year of his Elland Road contract and has only just been taken off the transfer list after failing to sign a new deal.Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo is keen to sign another striker but sources close to the Championship club deny any official bid has been made.It is understood Wolves have also expressed an interest in the player.Beckford scored 34 goals for Leeds last season, helping them reach the League One play-off semi-finals.Leeds boss Simon Grayson had stated earlier this week that the club were prepared to keep Beckford for this season and risk him leaving on a free transfer at its end. They hoped Beckford would score the goals that would get them promoted and then would agree a new deal at the club.West Brom's interest comes just days after Leeds lost their star midfielder Fabian Delph to Aston Villa for a fee believed to be at least £6m.Leeds have given a trial to 22-year-old Argentine striker Mariano Tripodi, who currently plays for Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro. Wouldn't help our cause loosing him so close to the first game of the season.

West Brom have officially denied tabling a bid, is what I read.Notice that contract negotiations reportedly began yesterday with LU and JB's agent.
Where have you heard that?Got excited when I saw the name Doyle, thought it was referring to Kevin, don't know anything about Michael.
'No Whites raid says Baggies West Brom have moved quickly to deny reports that they are plotting a £2million raid for Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford. Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo has been linked with a swoop for the 25-year-old hitman, who has scored 54 goals in 100 appearances for Leeds, for some time. But reports in West Yorkshire on Wednesday suggested a formal bid has been forthcoming from the Hawthorns for Beckford's services. However, it appears Albion have moved quickly to scotch those earlier reports and firmly denied that they have made an attempt to sign the highly-rated forward. It is not known if they will make an offer for Beckford, who has recently come off the transfer list at Elland Road and looks all set to spend another season in League One with Simon Grayson's promotion hopefuls. Leeds will no doubt be loathe to losing Beckford given that their other prize asset, Fabian Delph, completed his move to Aston Villa on Tuesday.'Doesn't mean it's true of course, but I just knew I'd not dreamt it.BBC Teletext last night had 'sources close to WBA are denying any bid has been made' but that won't be there now, I'm sure.

When we used to sign players everyone had an opinion about them straight away after seeing them week in week out. These days when we have incoming it's a case of googling or checking other team's message baords to see what they're like. They're all mystery men.

The independent
*Jermaine BeckfordLeeds United to Bolton (£3m)If losing one star performer in Fabian Delph was unfortunate, seeing two depart in quick succession would be careless for Leeds, who have the nagging worry Beckford can leave for nothing in the summer and are unlikely to be averse to a substantial bid for the forward
That woman with the low-slung breasts on the Football League Show reckons it's gonna happen.
