I've heard they are willing to pay him the 10k a week he wants and we've offered him £7k which is almost double everyone what everyone else is on in our division.Kens got a big court bill to pay remember. We'll miss him next season that's for sure.

This is an issue for me. We get crouds 4 times any other club but we pay div three wages to div three players.

I've heard he's signed today.

Given all the bluster and hot air around Beckford and Delph at the moment, do you not think we are all missing a a trick here?Doubtless bits of negotiations have been going on for a while, and the club have now admitted to the fact that they have rejected bids.Call me a hopeless optimist, but is it not more than likely that we (Larry) has lined up deals that are dependent upon the completion of Delph and Beckford's moves?I think it's almost certain.

So are you saying it's wrong to pay Div 3 players Div 3 wages then? I think that that tactic is one of the main reasons why we're so low in the league as it is, starting from a certain Mr Ridsdale a very few years back! And anyway, the LU players will generally be paid higher than most Championship players, I almost guarantee it.

Why is we get the crowds we do should we not pay wages fro better players? We have offloaded two fairly ordinary players because of their wages and their level has proved to be Div 3, hence their new clubs, but why are we not signing Div 2 players to replace them then? The Ridsdale issue was not the same he was spending beyond our means, we have he means to pay more than other Div Three clubs, about 4 times more due to our crowds and commercial activity.[/quote]All that would be true, if it were just about any other chairman. We have become a div 3 club and have been that way for 2 seasons now. Leicester showed it can be done without too much trouble, despite masses of unrest and uncertainty at the club. I can't answer why we're not signing better quality players - tho Crowe is better than what we've had at rightback I think - it's the chairman nad maybe all the suitable players who want to drop to our level who should be asked it.Who EXPECTS us to get promoted? Word was that Ridsdale was paying Seth Johnson for instance, £37k a week. The transfer fees he paid weren't that ridiculous overall, but the payback terms were by the looks of it.

How can we beome a Div 3 club with an average croud of over £20k, it's a joke. I'm not even bothered about transfer fees as there are plenty of good players round on frees, we can pay better wages than all other clubs in this division and we should so we attract the best players. Surely being Leeds we can attract players from CCC clubs to get us up and challenging in the next division. To accept that we may not is a strange position to take in my view.

We ARE a div 3 club, I don't fully get what your point is Reg.

Yep, just starting the 3rd season as a 3rd division club. Enjoy. I hope we manage to get out, but I am anything but certain or that optimistic.Ask me again at Christmas.
Reggie_Perrin
We are there temporarily, I will never accept anything else. I can't lose that hope or I will give up on the club. This is why it is imperative we get out of the division. If Bates does not give Grayson what he needs then he should be strung up by his knackers.
gorefidel
Everthing is temporary, but this temporarily could be a while if Grayson can't weave some magic. We might get crowds of 20k but those players proved they are 3rd div so it doesn't matter one little bit. We are a 3rd div club until we fight our way out.I am just hoping that the players who want away have their heads right and we can carry on like we were before the playoffs. It looks like they are staying as the Newcastle deal for Beckford is a shambles. Sad that. And Delph is hardly being overwhelmed with offers is he?So maybe, but I wouldn't count on it - we have no divine right.
Raposa
according to sky...villa have turned their attentions to some young midfielder at leicester now (andy king?).
