Transfer Rumours/Signed

Jon

Foxy_Dread This is how out of touch I am, Kiko's on 60k a week? I knew he was the top earner but I had no idea it was so much. Fucking hell. Doesn't get you much does it?

I think, judging by Twitter remarks, staying up will be seen as success next season as long as it looks like there's some kind of growth to build on in the season after. At least that's how I read it. I personally think the PL won't be all a lot of people thought it would be. Getting there might well be more fun than been there.

Foxy_Dread

Jon that's oft quoted, whether it's right or not I don't know.

Reggie_Perrin

Jon Ozil gets 6x that. This is the market.

Mitaman

Jon We should buy another striker and try Paddy back there.

He's too nice. We need Koch, big Koch, big German Koch.

EEPW

white refusing to sign is basically the same as handing in a transfer request. Absolutely no way will Brighton keep him if he refuses to sign, his value will plummet as the season progresses plus they have a player on their books who doesn't want to be there. Bielsa sees White as Key, almost as much if not more so than KP. We will get him, it just depends how much of the transfer kitty Radz is willing to spunk on one player. Talk of other players ala koch Might just be a smokescreen to see if Brighton blink. ALso if we DO have to go to silly money 30-35 m we have the option of selling more shares to the 49rs to fund the transfer For me its a no brainer. White after 12 months in the prem will be Englands first choice CB 35 million is lot of money. but we all know that his value will double if not triple by the end of this season...

Mike_Jones

EEPW If he doesn't break a leg, how Leeds would that be?! Pretty sure Brighton have the option for another year so they can hang on, the key is how much White wants to go to Leeds and how unhappy he'll be if denied.

Mitaman

EEPW I remember when we dropped 17m on Rio Ferdinand, that was a blinding bit if business when we sold him.

doggybag

I see Brighton have refused the offer again. Being as I agree with how EEPW sees it, I can only conclude that Brighton think they can get more for him somewhere else. But I haven't heard that another club has made an offer. I understand the window doesn't close till early October, so there's a long way for this to go before Brighton fold. I think we need to go looking elsewhere for a CB.

doggybag Sod Brighton. They're spending money so they'll need to balance their books eventually.

king_of_the_slums

doggybag No other offers and I think other PL teams will want to see how he performs in the Prem, so Brighton need to play him often and it depends where his head is at playing for them. I think their plan is to get him in the shop window and if he works out he'll be a 40 to 45m player end of next with 2 years on his contract (1 year and they have a 1 year option I believe). He should put down a request now if he wants to leave. If not, play the game Brighton have planned for him. Rumours also abound that he's not signed a 3rd contract offered, I am assuming Brighton has a big release clause in it.

Harvest

Release the Koch.

CBIT

Leeds United are pleased to announce Alfie McCalmont has signed a new contract with the club.
The midfielder has signed a four-year deal to remain at Elland Road, running until the summer of 2024.

Mitaman

CBIT We are quietly but surely building one hell of an U23s team. The future looks good and I agree with their strategy. Fuck this paying over the odds for mediocrity.

MDF

CBIT a bit surprised with him wctually, because during the virus stoppage Bielsa was rumoured to be looking at him seriously. But he didnt feature in any of our remaining games after the restart. Thought he was gone tbh.

king_of_the_slums

Leon Bailey from Leverkusen, winger (rumour)

Reggie_Perrin

Mitaman exactly. Here today gone tomorrow managers laying out £40m for players who think they've made it /won the lottery then start to get complacent. Keep em hungry. If you pay top wages you may get three top players but you will also have 15 knobheads on £5m a year.

CharlieG

Had £10m turned down for Ryan Kent. Stevie G a bit upset, apparently.

Mitaman

CharlieG they only paid 7m for him.

CharlieG

Mitaman Liverpool get 20% of any fee paid, so they'll want £15m, at least.

king_of_the_slums

Kent's a 7m to 10m player and offers us little in the PL. We already have Bamford, Harrison and Roberts at this level for wingers / number 10's. Costa and Alioski too at a push. I hope we drop that one and aim higher. We need a Pablo replacement / understudy who's plug-and-play and we need a CF who can bang 'em in, but who's not lazy and opportunist only.
