MolOverBeethoven I'm talking his brilliant breakthrough around 79, and 18 months later him looking dreadful as teams like Southampton came to ER and put five past us. Ended up winning titles at Arsenal and Leeds. I think there are similarities between them. Put them behind a shit defence and they struggled.

At the moment there are signs Mesilier can be mentally fragile like the young Lukic, but he will go into be a good keeper.

He faced the least shots/attacks of any championship keeper last season and still finished 33rd in the rankings so your shit defence theory falls flat on its arse there. And again, eyes don't lie.

It's his plinking the ball out to an on rushing opposition player just shy of the half way line that drives me to insanity.
Oh and corners.
He's not for me but I'm not sure we can replace him easily and he's better than Darlow and Cairns.
And as for Lukic I've not quite recovered from that Rix goal in the Cup or indeed that bizarre try Lukic scored v Arsenal when they beat us 5 0.
But we've only had one better keeper and that was Martyn.

Agree with all the above comments about Meslier, a bang average keeper and one of the worst performing keepers in the top 2 divisions in the last 2 seasons. Need to replace him if Leeds get promoted

Both of them are good shouts and Harvey was one of my faves as a kid and when he came back but I just feel Lukic shades it.
Martyn was way better. Shame we let Seaman go though we could have ruined him.
