I don't think the current fashion is very good. Do you get the attacking output from your wing backs? Do you get the defensive solidity from the two centre backs and the DM? What do you get from the midfield? The last one I can answer for Leeds one goal from midfield and not much else.
We settled for very little attacking output from Kamara and Ampadu/Gruev, and looked to Archie and Firpo to produce something. Which in fairness they did in parts, but against well organised teams we hit a brick wall.
Of course, I know I'm an old man shouting at the wind but I like talking shit.
