Half of Sunderland's team will be in the African cup in Jan and Feb.
The media is obviously loving the cash getting splashed when there's nothing else to report on.
But if you listen to the fans who've gone to the preseason games, they're less than happy.
Sunderland's preseason so far, most of these with the new boys playing:
Sevilla 1 - Sunderland 1
Sporting SP 1 - Sunderland 0
Hearts 3 - Sunderland 0
Hull 2 - Sunderland 1
Sunderland 0 - Real Betis 1
They play Augsberg on Sunday, a team who beat Palace two weeks ago and who have one of the best keepers in Germany if not Europe, currently on 19 clean sheets. That'll be a good test for this Sunderland, but look at their form. Can't beat Hearts nor Hull and should be beating Betis at home. Then their final match is a softener against Rayo Vallecano who got beat by WBA 3-2 last week.
Let's talk about Sunderland after that, can they compete, or have they splashed the cash and overspent to attract people? Could go either way IMO.
