Transfer Rumours/Signed

oneallanclarke

Leeds deciding Bamford couldn’t’t be relied on due to his injury record and then going out and signing not one but two strikers with exactly the same profile.
Vardy’s a free agent so they should add him on a pay for play contract. “Which one of you lot is fit this week? You? Right, you’re in.”

YoungParisian_inExile

So... who's getting the goals for us this season ?

240 games and 57 goals in 9 seasons at Everton .
If we're scraping the barrel then we should have gone with Vardy, at least he knows where the net is 😐

Djpekingman

YoungParisian_inExile Vardy believe it or not is only 38. Pace has gone. Too old and slow for the prem as Leicester found out last season when they relied on him. If Calvert/Lewin passes his medical then he's not a bad bet at a mere 28. We still need a first choice striker though - he ain't it.

Jon

Feels underwhelming.

YoungParisian_inExile

Jon a tad 😂

CBIT

He 28, prime of his career and and England international with extensive PL experience - whats not to like ?? 🙄

We must be paying him an absolute fortune as mackams, mancs, geordies and others have all been in negotiations with him...

Bod

That just shows desperate measures, he's not reliable injury prone. They still need to buy a quality striker, this just doesn't change that.

Chopper_Read

If this is our striker for the season I am revising my 13th prediction to bottom three. Not impressed at all.

Me too, can I change mine from 5th to 10th please?

l.q.navarro.

Not just a striker. We need players to provide some bullets. I'd have taken a punt from someone with an eye for goal from the lower leagues.
Offensively, we are seriously lacking !!

Jon

l.q.navarro. We’ve got Piroe. Doesn’t he tick that box?

Old-smiley-badge

What on earth are they thinking signing somebody who's just as likely to be injured as much as Bamford is? Just play Bamford and be done without another probable big wage.
Kind of feels like we are going backwards a little.
Did I say we'd finish 10th?

Mitaman

Old-smiley-badge 😆 we ain’t finishing 10th.. in any world.

Have faith, be it blind, have it.😉

l.q.navarro.

Jon
He can finish granted but... He's too slow imo to have an impact in this league. Does nothing outside the box. He could pick up some scraps, if our tall new sigings cause a bit of havoc on set pieces.

Raposa

He’s better than some of the dross strikers we’ve been linked with.

The injuries are a concern obvs.

Raposa

YoungParisian_inExile

His signing has compounded my prediction of 20th. If we have someone who knows how to score then we might be alright.

Raposa

That outfit Calvert Lewin is wearing would suit some of the drama queens on here .

YoungParisian_inExile

Raposa No drama, just a shit signing, in my opinion. I'd prefer we found a young lad banging them in the lower leagues .

Get your drift but that’s seems an even bigger gamble.
I’m with Foxy, on his day he’s up there, it’s whether he stays fit or not.

Foxy_Dread

I've not watched much of him but if fitness wasn't an issue, I'd have him with no hesitation. He has a knack for getting on the end of things.

He hasn't got a club this late in the window, I'd hope they got his wages demands down a good deal, with bonuses written in to sweeten him.

Jon

Foxy_Dread but if fitness wasn't an issue

But it is.

I'm not sure who we should get but I don't think he's our answer. I'd be happy to be proven wrong.
