He got his big opportunity last season, missed some big chances and the confidence visibly drained from him, so much so that by the end of the season his all round game had turned to shit.

Some players are fragile and take bad performances to heart. Others seem a bit indifferent to playing shit and can bounce back from it quite easily.

Joseph needs to feel wanted, loved and to get a flyer, he could yet be decent.

I said a couple of weeks ago that we should send him out on loan and if he knocks 20 in then we'll triple what we'd get for him now, or we keep him. This is a big season for him and if he doesn't perform then that'll be that for him and us.

Reggie_Perrin On the one hand they have a player who will undoubtably have an impact, but on the other hand they will have a player on 15 million a year - and I don't see Man City picking up that entire tab. Yes he's good but what else could you do with £300K a week?

I think Everton will have the same issue that Villa had when he was there. Their tactics will increasingly revolve around him as an individual and while his "skill" will paper over some tactical cracks and help them grind out some results it will be to the detriment of the team overall.

I cite Villa as the example. Their methodology became "pass the ball the Grealish and let him win a free kick". Getting rid of him turned out to be the best thing they could have done.
