Mentioned it before - but the word a few months ago was little chance on playing this season and he maybe finished. In any event, that sort of injury at his age and the chances of him being the same player again is slim. Naylor's back is fucked. Both did a job, time to move on.

I'd have put them three away, first with my left, second with my right, and the third with my walking stick inna golf club stylee. He might be decent, but his overall record doesn't inspire with regard a steady flow of goals. We don't really need any more forwards might have been my respnose last week and would still be my response this now.

Whilst Smith would be an improvement on what we have, would he be willing to drop to ten grand a week? I might have him back but there is no way he's worth much more than Bradley Johnson, and no way would I want him to be a marquee signing on top wages.

im not sure about smith. i dont really care about the "judas" thing. Where will he play? His current role when playing at Newcastle is holding midfield. Is he any better than Johnson. Not on Johnson's last two performances. Suspect this Smith thing has spurred him on.

Thing is, I think he would. We need a dogged, holding midfielder who can tackle. Woodgate adds nothing, but Smith would. Yesterday showed the gap.

The past is just that. More fool us for believing all the badge kissing and PR bollocks.

He won't get another 40k contract, like O'brian. I don;t know if its a loan or buy, but half a season cost 500-600k at that sort of rate. If you're taking a punt to get promoted and thats the cost of the loan in terms of wages? We walked away from a couple of million we could have got by selling Beckford last Jan. So there is a precedent.

I would. If I was taking a punt, rather than pushing on as far as I can with bargain basement - which is what I think we are doing.

Yeah, but he's not Leeds and can't pretend to have been a fan. He's a local plastic scouser who played for the Mancs. Not exactly an easy sell.
