Okay so it didn't take an hour but it says he is having a medical on Monday.

Think I meant Hendrie, not Jendie, I don't know him or her.

I seem to remember a story about Hendrie when he'd dropped down a division winding opposing players up talking about what he earned and asking them if they wanted to wash his Ferrari, what a cunt

He did a spell at Blackpool on loan. Not too sure if that was before Grayson left to join us.
Cool_Notes
Warren Feeney coming back. Played in that 5-2 demolition at Luton when we were under Carver

Been out enjoying a few pints since 12 bells. Just come home and thought I would check on transfer rumours in doing so caught up on KB’s court case what a 24 carat twat he really is. Am I alone in thinking I know who is paying for that ill advised episode? HicLeaning towards feeling a bit on the post piss up belligerent side So here goes I appreciate it is probably a bit premature but I am well and truly fucked off with the way things appear to be playing out what with talk about Chesterfields keeper and Warren fucking Feeney. I know we are in 3rd division but come on surely we can do better than this? I know clubs have no divine right to be in the top flight but we were lead to believe the debt was cleared and with our support surely this generates enough income to enable the purchase of players with the ability to get us at least into the next level of the football league…….or maybe not and this is it. HicAfter thirty six fucking years of loyal support and deciding not to go anymore and deciding not to renew my season ticket it’s all my fault and as a result we have to get free signings or that’s what the twating shit bag cunt Bates wants me to think. Hic….No return until Bates fucks off…..cut my nose off to spite my face not on your life wish I had done it years ago. HicUntil I sober up and decide like every other fucking year – they are the greatest in the land…..HicPuts on marching on together with a tear in the eye…..Hic

Segovia, look at it from bates pov. He spent a relative fortune for Blackwell - Hulse, Healey,Gregan, Butler, that left back from Ipswich with the blonde hair, Blake... some of the money in signing on fees, others in wages. It wasn't enough to get us up. Then look at how Grayson has done since he's come in. I admit Feeney - who's not coming now anyway according to Grayson - is no replacement for Beckford but one of our main weaknesses has not been having enough options up front when Beckford was out. Lets just see where we are when the season starts squad-wise but the days of headline making players arriving are long gone. And from the way Sodje and Naylor played I'm happy to have quality players at this level than 'famous' players.

I don't see Bates as evil or even bad, but I do see someone who has a fixed spend on the team and that fixed spend is a small proportion of the overall cash the business throws off. Leeds is a business first and a football club second. Forget the 'net' profit. It generates £25m or so and we spend 5-6m on the team in wages and the rest. And maybe the same again of admin, infrastructure and the rest. So there is a 10m hole somewhere (in my simplistic world). We could afford to spend two or three times what we budget and while that wouldn't guarantee anything, it would improve the odds. We won't because..... but we could and we all know it. For the owners, Championship or division 1 doesn't make much difference in net terms - wages go up, crowds go up so the net take isn't that different. I think Bates and co would like to go up, but not at any price. The cash comes from the development of ER and subsequent sale. The assumption of all this is that 20,000 are stupid enough turn up no matter what. If we start well, then he's probably right.....on the upside we seem for once to have a manager who looks like he can deliver within the constraints. No much of laugh though is it? Some dodgy goalie from Chester-entlam, being legged over by some 3rd rate sweaties for a goal shy forward and a SAGA sponsored age threshold for new buys. I wonder it Lorimer has started taking his boots with him?

I agree on the cash/business front. I just think we have transfer expectations that are prem-related. How many teams ever actually pay any decent money for anyon outside of the Prem? Look at Snodgrass and Bechio, never heard of either of them or Naylor, but they all did really well last year.

It's always been expectations hasn't it. But I agree with DHM. We have uncovered some gems once we got rid of the Blackwell/Watford fiasco group of players and they are still with us at the time of writing this post.
