I think the current squad could walk it with grayson playing sensible consistent football. i still can;t get out of my mind the way we played and the team we played at Histon. Triangles in our own half FFS.
Loose_Lips
I agree with that too. It makes sense, but we don't seem to do well out of these well versed footballers. And whilst we can afford it, Bates ain't gonna spend it.

all very depressing this...just got back from a fortnight in the algarve and all we,ve got is some keeper from pigging cheltenham!!just opened my mail which includes renewal forms for my membership and also the supporters club!hmm...tough one this!
old_codger
Ah come on OY, we needed a new keeper, even if he's only back up, and he isn't actually a bad keeper anyway. There was not going to be a Leeds-signing-a-new-keeper situation that could make any of us miss a heartbeat in excitement now was there? Not realistic anyway. It is too quiet on the transfer front but we've signed a good right back and a decent keeper. Okay, both on frees but there are a lot of players unsigned and who are going to be sweating within the next couple of weeks - not through training but through worrying that they haven't signed for anyone yet. I'm not implying they'll want to come to Leeds but Man City id a good example - just released 4 players, Hamann, Vassell, two of em. I think there'll be plenty good players available on frees, and LU might be looking at taking some on.Trouble is, it's all the mad chairman's antics making the news and probably stopping any money being spent.

What about taking a pop at Bridges? He's been released by Hull, I believe.

I'd rather have players I've never heard of like Bechio, Snodgrass and Naylor than people who might have been released by Man City. That way madness lies: Joachim, Rickets etc
Loose_Lips
What's happening with Sodje at the moment? Just read on the leeds website that Huntingdon will be fighting it out with Lubo and Rui for central defence with Naylor out of action. That does not bode well IMHO.
Harvest
I'd love to see a fit and confident Huntingdon. He's never had a really good run. He had a spell of a few games where he never put a foot wrong and his distribution was first class. Needs to be more consistent. Lubo worries me.
The_Don_Revie
I concur Harvest. To be fair I liked the kid at Newcastle - he feels 'very Leeds' to me if that makes any sense. Lubo Out.Any chance of new players Bates you slimey piece of filth?
DavidHarveysMonkey
yes i thought he looked our best player in Wise's last match. Parker played well then too. First thing Macca did was bomb both of them out.
Reggie_Perrin
I don't see Grayson taking reputation into consideration for anyone. My hopes for the season lie totally in this man's hands though, Bates clearly has given him no money to spend but I think there are bargains to be had (luckily for Ken). I fear that our pull is not as strong as we are not exactly guaranteed promotion are we?

Here you HarvestLeeds boss to monitor HuntingtonPublished: 07/07/2009Leeds manager Simon Grayson is pleased to finally be able to assess defender Paul Huntington for himself after he returned to full training. The former Newcastle man has been out of action since September because of a groin injury, and Grayson has barely seen the 21-year-old in action."He kept coming back, feeling it again, and having to rest," he told the club's official website. "But he's ticked over during the summer months and he joined us for the start last week."He added: "Hopefully he can go through a full pre-season, playing games, and force his way into the first team because he's had a frustrating time of it."Since I came in December I've not seen much of him, but there's an opportunity for him now, hopefully to get himself fit and force his way in."
Harvest
Good to read that.
Mokhtar_Dahari_Forever
he's only 21 paul huntington. no need to rush him off. what about the new right back? no one's heard of him?
Loose_Lips
Luke Garbutt gone. Parker extends contract.
Loose_Lips
Colin Coates from Crusaders, Northern Ireland being looked at too. Central Defender. No Sodje coming our way?
Reggie_Perrin
Beckford's agent talking about Newcastle as a big club, great stadium, great history etc. FFS, what about Leeds United? Newcastle? History? The only history they've got is they existed. Can't we just give him a 2 year deal, say, fire us to promotion and if you still want to leave then we will sell you. It's all about money clearly and can't we reward a 34 goal striker with an extended deal that's acceptable to him?
