I think its great that Larry is doing his bit for disabled minorities. The disability and carers allowances will come in right handy as well.

Quite OC. As for the rest you miserabalists I didnt see an announcement saying the loan book was closed at ER with this signing.
I agree with gore that it's Larry's pick, why don't we let him get on with it and see where we are mid October.

I'm happy with the signing, just hope he can get a front pair (or four) that can gel and quickly. Keogh looks good as does Macca, add Bechio and Fossil to the mix. The other worry is midfield. Grayson needs to be strong and not go for pushing Nunez out on the wing (I know he has to pick him to begin with, but that's another story). Nunez needs free reign through the middle, where that puts Howson and Clayton I'm not sure? Bit of a headache, but perhaps push Howson out to the wing if Clayton continues to dominate? As for Brown, not sure why we bought him? I'd like to see Nunez and Clayton start in midfield. As for the back four, forget about it, does my head in, it should be the easiest place to hire but Grayson seems to be defenderphobic. You can't tell me there's no 18 / 19 year olds coming through at leftback or centre back in Prem sides that wont get a look in this season?

And I can't help thinking Beckford should have stayed, he's had two clubs now and he seemed in his groove for us. Should have had 2 more years for us and then would have commanded a 7 mill fee when we dropped back down again, both parties happy. His agent should be shot!

Just think if we'd had 20% of robbie keane we'd have, er > spurs £7m Lpool£20M> spurs £12M...nearly 8M!

I WANT to get excited about this signing but it's Leeds innit, and even if he has played over 50 times for his country and has a good club side CV (well half decent anyway) he cost nowt and it doesn't look like we've been wrestling with other clubs to sign him, despite the spiel from SG.
Can't be any less effective than Kilkeny though eh :P

If this works its a coup - heard he was on his way elsewhere when the call came. Just hope he lives up to the reputation of 55 international caps - can't be any worse than Mr Brown anyway.

It's funny isn't it, this is quite an exciting signing for us, an international with over 50 caps, yes! A midfielder who is 29, so in his prime, on a free, with no club, 23 games in 3 years, prone to injury..
He's the new Erik Bakke, which means we need to find a song for him that's better than.. "Erik, Erik, a Bakke, he's gonna come and attack yer!" Never did take off this one, no matter how much I tried.. :)
