Lambert so far has been quietly very effective , you're right though , he's done well but has to push them to another level , I think he will and I think he'll move to a top four club within 3 or 4 seasons.
Lambert is pure managerial class and it was comparing how he did tactics, his transfer targets and how he built on comng out of L1 with Larry's version of the same that is part of the reason I don't rate the latter.

We keep our shit players and add more shit to them - the good ones that remain, we coach into shit.
That's why we came up with them two years ago and they have had successive promotions and look stable in the prem.

But he bought Bradley, so loses points for that. Passed on Killer though, so gets a few back
If he can keep Norwich up and get them in the top half in the second season up there, then he's as good as you think he is.

Just seen the link to some publication called "The National". It sounds like bullshit to me. What if we do get promoted, will he still refuse to negotiate then? Would he risk being found lacking for pace in the prem on Championship wages? It might suit us quite well in that case.

I'd agree with the sentiment that a combined 9.5m player AND wage budget is low in ratio with turnover and for a club that has supposed ambitions of getting into the top flight!
Its all a smokescreen,Bates will run it his way and his way only and invariably that will mean spending as little as is needed and consequently filling the coffers in Monaco towers!

Its means they are now taking circa £15m -£20m a year out if those numbers are right. Excluding any revenue from player sales, if you assume thats paid for the East Stand rubbish.
Its one giant con. £35m - less £12m wages and running costs - less £3.5m rent (and we all know where that goes)
29 players is a still daft though when you could get fewer, better for the same with half a brain.
Compare with other clubs, where the director stick money in.
