Jon What was meant to be a steady day over rolling hills turned out to be maybe the hardest yet. I managed to get us lost somehow. Consequently, we ended up doing miles of country lanes. My ankle is fucked and my Achilles hurts like fuck. Daughter woke up with a pain in her thigh. Not sure how she managed today but she soldered on gamely. Tough girl. Love those random rocks just dropped by a glacier At least 10,000 years ago. Holed up in The Black Bull in Kirby Stephen. Cracking looking little bar, very tempting. Tidy room, with a nice deep bathtub.
Jon She said she’s done and judging by the way she’s hobbling about I think she is. My left leg’s gone mental and the right Achilles too. If she hadn’t got there first I would’ve thrown in the towel for sure. New boots , what can you do?
Foxy_Dread The Black Bull is pricey, £5.50 for a pint of Landlord. The Taggy Man down the road at least a quid a pint cheaper. Good little locals bar.
CharlieG Setmurthy Woods and Watch Hill, yesterday. Solway Firth and Scotland in the distance. Cockermouth from Watch Hill
fuzzy Is that near Binsey? The view of the Solway Firth looks similar to how it looks from there. Looks boss 👌
Harvest Did the one hour trek round Ponty racecourse today. Surprisingly nice, saw a few hawks. Longest flat course in Europe apparently. Had a wander up to the castle after. You can see for miles, which I guess is pretty important for a castle. Cracking autumn day.
