Was going to put this in Where Are You Now? But it's not now, it's before, and I was walking.
Got a couple of days off work, we both got up early and said right what shall we do, then bickered for half an hour.
I've forgotten where we ended up heading but as we're driving along she suddenly remembered watching a programme recently where they walked up to Victoria Tower past Huddersfield. So we did that for starters. Parked about a mile away and walked up. I've seen it before but didn't know its name. Only one other person up there. Lovely crisp day, we could see for miles, Huddersfield and beyond one way, Wakefield and Barnsley the other.

Emley Moor tower here. Always wanted to see this close up so decided to hit this later.

After this we went to Holmfirth. Never been before. I said that the second I see three blokes pass me in a tin bath we're leaving. Nice little town with some quirky shops and nice looking boozers. I bet it's rammed in summer. I blatantly refused to do anything Last of The Summer Wine related...so of course we ended up eating in Sid's Café after I'd stopped sulking and going to Norah Batty's houses/steps. 'I'm not bloody eighty you know.' Sulked a bit more then bought some cheese.
Then we drove to Emley Moor and had a wander round and as close to the tower as you can get. Tallest structure in Britain apparently. Made me feel weird looking up at the top, I had the same feeling at the base of one of the towers on the Humber Bridge, like the opposite of vertigo.

Passed a day anyway, off to Manc land tomorrow.
