Nah. Not for me. Can't get into it at all. I'll stick with boxing and I don't think it is in any worse state than it has been for 30 years. Maybe tv exposure but PPV has presented a different funding opportunity.

I think pay per view is the worst thing to happen to the sport. Sky charging the way they do and then making us pay more. It used to be huge fights only but then they put the amir khan breidis Prescott as ppv. Out of order. I've seen far more poor UFC fights than boxing matches tho. Wrestling bores me to tears as does a lot of martial arts. But a good fight is a good fight no matter what the code.

Trick is not to pay for it....
The last pub i had sky wanted 1500 quid a month for sport so i skirted round it. They used to want on average 250 quid for ppv boxing. Completely unafordable and economically unviable. Those great nights we used to have in the pub watching boxing are very rare now. The only pub near me that has sports on from al jazeera or whateverit is is run by a pal of mine who is currently paying an 8 grand fine off to sky.boxing is undoubtedly the ONLY sport i absolutely love and its been taken off our terrestrial screens and also gone very corporate on the live stage with mental ticket prices. I want boxers to earn top money but some match ups are not deserving, some protected records are not deserving and the publics only interested in ex olympic gold medalists and world titles. Long gone are the days when area titles would be aired on itv and nearly all british titleists were known. So many world belts that the domestics can be ignored easily and are. Ive been to a cracking main fight but every undercard scrap was dog shit. All thd money going to the top
I thought Channel 5 were getting into it but it's gone a bit quiet. They had some Fury stuff and Eubank Jnr which was good. even had Al Bernstein co-commentating. Surely they (or BBC or ITV) could start to promote the British, Common Wealth and Euro Titles as main events. The key is to get the faces and personalities known then people follow them through their careers. I've often said that the BBC needs to stop spending on Premier League football or fucking Formula 1 and buy up some rights to minority sports and do them justice. Motocross, British boxing, rally cross, touring cars, dog racing, sailing, power boats, hockey. They should then sack off BBC rolling news in favour of hourly 15 minutes of news with 45 minutes of sport between. It could even warrant a £10 a month (for everyone including pubs) and it would give them a decent budget to play with . Maybe even go for the Championship / FL rights. This morning though, BBC sports news decided that women's football was the top story.

McGregor needs to realise that if his mouth is writing cheques, his body has got to cash them.
