Did exactly what he said on the tin. A refreshing change when interviewed as he always answered questions, some of them with a simple 'yes' or 'no'. What would be nice would be the odd 'Labour' politician paying a 'tribute' without the obligatory, tabloid-friendly 'I didn't agree with everything he did/said'. Fact is, he fought hard for normal, working people, irrespective of gender, colour, etc. Something you'd have thought they'd have approved of. If he worked in the City they'd have knighted him. But he worked for working class people so they fucking hate him.

The establishment hated him for all that he stood for and all that he was. If he was that effective an operator in the City or in commerce he'd have been drafted in to save the NHS. Or remodelled the welfare state. Or defence procurement. And he'd have had a trip to the Palace to boot. But he didn't. So they took pictures of him on holiday and reminded us of the house he lived in. And begrudged the 'normal' people he protected every single penny he got them whilst others spunk fucking millions on fuck all a few hundred feet above them.Funny how everyone cries out for a straight-talking, question-answering person of principle but then don't like it when they get one.

Oh come on, he was political and therefore was fair game like everyone in that game. He was even standing as a candidate in the euros. Of course they went after him, like they do everyone else. He wasn't part of the gangs who gave out patronage, so no benefits - as you know thats how works - party contributions = payback.no one hated him, didn't you ever catch the interplay between him and some of his 'enemies'?He was fucking good at what he did, for his members. A few more of the useless cunts should be so good. As a commuter, he was a pain in the fucking arse - but that was his job in that kind of industrial sector.

You know blood was rushing to the head a bit, but then I thought fuck it. The bloke is dead and though a vehemently disagreed with his politics and tactics I do believe he was man of integrity who worked hard for his members. And 52 years old, well we're mostly around that mark, there but for the grace of God and all that. If we are to debate train drivers pay in London, let's do it on a different thread.
