Out tonight for the 1st time in 2weeks. I felt absolutely rotten and only did 24k! My mate punctured on some gravel, well like boulders. Luckily none of has had a puncture kit or tubes!

Had a bit of work done on my bike today. Looking forward to racking some miles up here on in. 4969 to go.

I spend a fair bit of time in the Isle of Man now, head off this weekend for a few week, so will be up for it when i get back in March. I'm on the isla bike out there so will still get a few miles in, following in the footsteps of Cav.

Did you see the documentary about him? Some cracking riding out there.

No I'll have a look for it on youtube. Yes it's a good place to ride and no discernible anatagonism to cyclists.I know people who promoted and still promote youth cycling activities he took part in, a christmas ride from Peel to Douglas on the old railway line. Peel's a great place, has a good community and still feels like a working town with plenty of characters.

That is beautiful. Talking if beautiful things by SRAM brake levers and shifters turned up today. 1 more month to wait for the calliper s and then My hybrid will have drops.

It's really light (carbon fibre so I guess it should be). Probably a bit small but I'll give it a go Bars are really narrow ('proper' CX jobs). Not had a real go on it yet (still confined to barracks bike-wise until the baby comes) but the lad who lent it to me reckons it's a cracker of a bike.

I always liked Greg Lemond. Keeping it real as the kids say.Lance Armstrong would give both his bollox for his integrity.

Bad news to report for cyclists, bikers and scooter boys. Dunnies cafe in Otley has closed after 89 years.

17 inches of snow yesterday, another 3 inches today. On the plus side took the kids down to the park with my sister and had a blast sledging.

I'd love a go on one but at £1k for the cheapest (On One) it'll keep. Was shopping around for cheap road tyres never mind another bike. Reckon that CX is going to be too small. Shame, lovely bit of kit.

61k today in two and a half hours which is good going for me, and with 585m of climbing. Looking forward to my hundred miler next Saturday, weather permitting?

I'm meant to be 'racing' next week. Well, as I always say, riding with a number.https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/103723/Midwinter-Madness-presents-%22Hurt-at-the-Haigh%22Should be a laugh, bit of 'Hit The North' replacement for a lot of folks (turns out the council and the National Cycling Centre did fuck it up for HTN this year, asking for £20k to run the race).Be nice to see if I really am any fitter.....

Just finished the 2nd audax of the year. And by fuck wasn't it the hardest. 7hrs 20 minutes riding time or it took us 9hrs 45minutes. 150k (100mile) with a fuckin mountain on the way home from hay on wye! I have never ridden anything like that, a 6 to 7 mile climb with some sections at 18%. It took us an hour to get up the fucker. The problem was it just went on and on and then at the top it went straight down. It is called the Gospel Pass and is apparently the highest road in Wales. Luckily for us there was a fuck off head wind up there as well. The lowest gear al the way then the decent was excellent, but apart from massive pot holes. Some of the riders out were phenomenal, one guy just sprinted past us up the climb, like it was flat dancing on the pedal a beautiful thing to see. I have never seen anything like that. We chatted to him after in the pub & he had cycled from Cardiff the Chepstow before the 730am start!Without doubt the hardest ride I haver done, when you consider the furthest I have cycled an extra 50k took me 10hrs 45minutes. Still I am well pleased I have finished but that felt like dying at points. On we go!
