Yep - for the link of the place / club. Is a great place. And Wednesday is the 'Haunted Forest Ride'. Ride around in the dark in costume then get drunk and let off fireworks afterwards - then all drive home ..... sounds ideal. This trail system is about 15 miles away - and about 40 minutes away is Oakridge - which has some stunning trails - so will be doing that come Spring time. For the image - my bike is older - its's got the single shock - not on the forks. But it was cheap and will certainly do for now til I get more experience.Cheers.

Just got this for my lad who wants to emulate the brownlee's. £10 off ebay, he loves it. It's heavy as fk.

The Ribble has landed. Will have to wait until Sunday morning to christen it. Cragg Vale for the maiden voyage. Looks mint. Even with mudguards......

Let's have a pic then after the first ride.

Tis a beautiful thing. I've just signed up to do London to Paris next year, anyone fancy it?

First ride on the new bike. A bike that 'fits'. You know you're a lanky twat when you buy a 64cm road frame. Noticed a difference straight away with pedalling. And with my back (it's fucked so I tolerate some pain whenever I ride a bike, but it lasted a lot longer today). Through Halifax and down to Mytholmroyd. Up Cragg Vale. Nice and steady. It was a beautiful morning, no point wasting it getting all 'Strava' out on a ride. Fair few roadies out. Fuck me they can be a miserable bunch. The MTBers will always give you a nod or a hello, same with the old stagers but a lot of 'too pro to say hello' wallahs out today. The drop back into Ripponden was cracking. The longer toptube meant I could get a proper bit of 'aero' going on (well, my 45-year old amateur's version). It's a belting stretch of road.Through Sowerby Bridge, went towards Elland and then home through Brighouse. Just over 30 miles. 569m of climbing apparently.I think I'm going to like this bike. Even a puncture on the way home didn't matter. Will be out at night during the week, have to get the miles in for the Coast to Coast.

But I did 112 on the Etape Du Dales. Mate reckons that's a harder day in the saddle. I think he's humouring me....

Did my first ride over 30 miles for 4 months, yesterday. Lost a lot of fitness but managed to average just over 13 mph - not bad for the Lakes. Would quite fancy the c2c meself as this summer's plan to ride a couple of sportives was buttfucked by post viral fatigue syndrome.Edited on laptop due to tablet's retarded, predictive text.

Nice trip out this morning. Not the longest (20-odd miles) but plenty of uphill. Then again round here it's hard to find flat bits.New bike is great. Shows just how much having a road bike that fits matters.
