First ride in 3 weeks. Nowt difficult - 18miles & 2000 ft of ascent. Blowing out of my arse for last 3 miles and may have left bits of lung somewhere on the Newlands road. Other than that, it was pretty enjoyable.

Me - How's it going?
Lad - All gravy. Got up (to Fort William) about 7pm then went out for a ride for an hour or so. Had a meal and a few beers then chilled.........in a massive static caravan, which is strong. Just setting off to have a look at the World Cup course.

We had planned going up at one point. Life and work got in the way. Had a belter of a ride last week. All local. Some sketchy stuff on the slabs as the rain had left them very slick.
Out this Sunday. There are some trails that drop through the woods at Elland cemetery that I want to try.

Mate had the last Tracer. To be honest I reckoned it was a lot of money for not enough bike. Something seemed to go wrong almost every ride. I'm no expert but it was like they lived on a name.
And his was red. And all red bikes are shit.....

Barely ridden the road bike this year. Realising why MTBs are just better. And discovering so many trails that are on the doorstep

Did first MTB of the year at the weekend, a beauty. Shuttled to the top - then a great 2,000 descent.
Had planned to do it more than once, but it spits you out quite close to the pub, and it was quite hot by then ....

Nice. Went out Sunday. Some t*** had put wire across the trail at Shibden. I saw it in time and braked. Moved it the side of the trail. Another local bloke hit it at about 20mph (we reckon someone put it back after it was moved). They'd strung it across the trail at about 20cm up. Utter c***s.
A lot of it about now. I know some MTB riders can be a bit of a pain but you could kill someone doing what some of these people do. Boulders put on a blind bend at Raistrick woods, loads of it going on.
Beautiful ride though. Hot even though I went out at 5.30.
Going to be a good summer.....

What's the most serious charge that can be fired at these cunts? Attempted murder?

You could try for attempt GBH. Attempted murder is regarded as the most difficult crime to prove as you have to establish an intent to kill. An intent to cause really serious harm (GBH/wounding) will suffice for murder.
I seem to remember a case about someone digging a pit and then covering it but can't recall how it was charged without looking it up.
For an attempt you have to show that the act was more than merely preparatory.
Police are aware of what went on. Happening a lot. Apparently the council are treating the stones laid on the trail at Raistrick as criminal damage of the wall that borders it and have informed the cops.

Can't wait to get out again but it does make you wary. Thinking of trying the infamous 'Stannys' trail at the weekend. Pretty sure I know where it is.

The lad had a fantastic time at Fort Bill. Got to ride some cracking, less well travelled trails, too.
Next stop Morzine, more bike launches and racing in the Passport de Soliel.
It's called "working", apparently.
