Placid If you haven’t seen it in ages The a French Connection is about as good as it gets. I watched Chinatown the other day. Great up until the end which I’d forgotten and seems a bit rushed.

Work, watching the West Ham game. Entertaining match. Santa Con in NY. Expect some rare sights through here later tonight. They all go in full of joy and anticipation, happy faces. No shortage of dejected, mascara run faces, barefoot, shoe carries, heart broken boys and girls for the last train.

On a train from Leeds back to London.
Flying visit to Huddersfield. Trains across the north really are a mess aren't they.
My train to Leeds from Huddersfield (destination Edinburgh) was cancelled, so I stood on the Newcastle bound train and managed to get my connection. I think I have dodged a bullet. Constant warnings in Leeds and Huddersfield that people with Northern Rail tickets can't use Transpenine Express.
Then there are signs in Leeds station re when not to use trains over Christmas.
Didn't know you could get a train from Huddersfield direct to Edinburgh.
Well you can if they're not cancelled.
