Djpekingman Indeed. Apparently eating offal raw from seals and penguins gives you a certain amount of vitamin C which prevented them getting scurvy in the Antarctic when their ship got frozen in sea ice for a few months. Good to know these things. You never know when they might come in handy.

It's got windy here in KW so dropped to...feels like 72 degrees.

The last time I recall falling on ice was near Trafford Bridge before the FA cup game in 2010 or 2011 v scum. Anyone recall it?

Worked 25 years on the building sites as a self employed joiner.
I was teamed up with a good mate from Rothwell and we worked mostly outside either shuttering or doing roofs.
That’s where the money was as most of the lads at the subbie I worked for preferred to be inside doing first or second fixes.
If you got wrapped up and had the proper gear on the cold wasn’t an issue if you were on the wallop.

hendersonjones I lived in the mountains for 8 years working either in construction or in agriculture. Trust me, the winters up there were every bit as bad as the UK - snow and ice not unusual up there.
