Back to my usual 10 miles these past 3 days as Tokyo temperatures and humidity have suddenly become bearable. In Aug and most of Sept I had to limit it to 7 miles a go as temperatures in mid 30s and humidity off the scale. We live in the suburbs and there's the local version of a beck with running path alongside nearby and also a couple of parks next to each other to go through. The Ghibli animation studio theme museum is on the way for those who know their anime. I vary it a bit but always pleasant runs with a bit of wildlife on view. I regularly see snakes, lizards, turtles etc. The snakes are non-poisonous but often a good 4 or 5 feet long and my mate had a bite off one a couple of years ago which he said hurt like a bastard. Before he told me about that I'd jump over if one was in my path.
3 years ago I reached 106 kilos (16 stone +) a, which was a disgrace considering how fit and active I'd been before. Tried a gym for a few months but thought, why am I paying £50 a month when I could be running outside for free. Now I'm 83kg (13 stone), which is fine for someone 6-foot 3.
