Oh...
I'm only just starting to feel a bit normal following our day out.
Had a couple of pints in the first pub and then a 0% Peroni in the next one. Turned up at the restaurant 15 minutes early and were happily welcomed.
We had wine by the glass, wife had a Greek white (Assyrtiko) and I had the Croatian Plavak - four of them.
I had Brie & Cranberry Arancini balls whilst we waited and she had Haggis Fritters. Mine wasn't that nice.
Then I had white onion, leek and cider soup, which was delicious, and it came with a camembert and onion marmalade toastie - about five spoonfuls of soup though. Wife went for scallops, which came as a singular one, and it was cold.

My main course was Butternut Squash & Pecan Nut Roast, with Xmas vegetables, and it was the worst thing I have ever paid for and eaten. It was black and tasted of soil 🙃
I didn't go for the pudding.
Then we went over the road to Opera and I had a Malbec and the wife had a French Martini.

Then a couple came in and sat near us and we got chatting. He had just proposed to her, so we got the champagne in, and then we all went on the Tequila Rose shots.
Then we went somewhere else and I was bought an Old Fashioned, then we got the train home and went in the local pub. At this stage, it was like an LSD dream. People coming in and out of view like a conveyor belt of bad dreams.
Woke up on Saturday still pissed, and to the wife saying that we had spent £490 on that day out. Jesus.
