Nobody really gives a fuck about what happens. It’s all about Eric. More specifically, can the boy act? None of this bit-part bollocks, but actually starring (and carrying) a six-part drama.
The answer is yes. In fact, I was very impressed with him. After about five minutes I’d forgotten who he was - always a good sign.
Sure, he’ll never be as gifted as acting as he was a footballer, and he won’t be winning an Oscar anytime soon. But he’s really rather good in an enjoyable drama.
