Just got through the Haunting of Bly Manor. Not bad although a few of the back and forward in time (yes a spoiler alert) doesnt quite do it. Also seeing as its and American production set in the UK the 80's emergency services siren was nothing like it nor was the sound of crickets chirping in a english countryside manor.
But worth a punt if youve nothing else to do,

Netflix. The Chicago 7 film.
I had high hopes for this. Reviews were generally positive, and Cooley likes a true story. However, those hopes were dashed, barely half an hour into the fucker. Three reasons why:

The two Cambridge toffs: Borat, and the one with the funny eyes: Redmayne, putting on American accents. What’s this all about? Aren’t there two American actors out there capable of doing the job?
The constant interruptions from the trial judge got on my wick. Senile old cunt.
There was no backstory to speak of, no characterisations, and you didn’t really give a fuck as to whether they were freed or fried.
All in all a big bag of old bollock.

I'm sorry it didn't work for you. I agree on Redmayne but, honest, I've never liked him much as an actor. But Baron Cohen, for me, was a revelation in this. I'd thought he was just a fool but his performance here was sympathetic and cool and he was by far the one I couldn't take my eyes off. The other actor who comes out of it with big kudos is the guy who played Bobby Seale. Keaton, as usual, great. As a critique on the American justice system, I think it made it's point. I wouldn't want to be targetted by a right wing government in the US either. Whatever their politics all those guys had balls.
PS Tom Haydyn bedded Jane Fonda for long time. Lucky bastard!

There's a film called "Svengali" on Amazon Prime about a welsh lad who moves to London.

The actor who plays the main character hasn't got a very convincing welsh accent though.
