Vinyl is an extremely inefficient way of playing music - the grooves and the ability of the stylus (and what type of tip it has) to get into the groove (music can be such a revelation...) and extract that info.
You don't need to spend £30K, that's just Linn being Linn. Mine cost around £6K what with the new bearing and power supply, but it's effectively Triggers broom with the changes I made to it.
But when the amps are warmed up, and the wife and neighbours are out, it sounds great.
If I had £30K to spend on a turntable, I wouldn't be spending it with Linn anyway.
