Thank you for reminding me of the radio serialisation. I listened to the first and enjoyed and then forgot. I think I posted about it further up the thread.
I read his short stories first - On The Yankee Station then A Good Man In Africa. Brazaville beach - as you say - really made an impression. I enjoyed the Actuary one as well - showed that thriller side of him.
Any Human Heart though - easy his finest work.
