Firstly, why are the kids of nurses more deserving of a decent standard of living than private sector care workers?
Next, you're quite OK with shipping i cheap labour to lower wages in the private sector for the good of the economy, so why can't we do the same with nurses? And teachers? I'm sure there's some Eastern and Southern Europeans who are qualified and speak English and will do either for 18K a year. Why should the public sector be different from the private sector?
Last, who is it making the decision as to which workers are economically thrown to the wolves and which are deified? Is there a list somewhere?
