fuzzy Placid They had a big sound system and decks in there and were blasting out techno. Imagine thinking it'd be a good idea to drive it down an A road?
Placid fuzzy If they ever tour again and you get the chance, go and see them live. Worth it for the encore tune alone. Always brilliant. Albert Hall with Jobbo was a beauty gig. Load of welsh acid casualties mooching about chattering in welsh.
fuzzy Placid That venue was class. One of best times I ever saw them. I know a load of lads from the Flintshire area who could fit that bill who I've got to know from gigs over the years. Met them at the Thirsty Scholar before the gig. The one next to me with the blue coat on had got us chucked out of there years previously for being a livewire and had rather comically shouted "Thatcher's Britain!" as we got turfed out. Before the Albert Hall gig he told me that he'd calmed down loads and grown up since then. Then on the way to the gig he pulled out a massive bag of powder and hoofed a couple of lines off a wheelie bin lid.
Tolley fuzzy "The one next to me with the blue coat on" There's 6 blokes lined up in the picture, 5 of whom have blue coats on...
l.q.navarro. Bought this many moons ago, as I used to love Hello Sunshine. Can't remember much else about it, so illre investigate this weekend.
Anchor Fabulous write up. I'm intrigued. I only own one SFA album. Forget which one. Another band that passed me by in the fug of parenthood and careering. I do recall a fair few festivals I went to in the early/mid 90's and rather enjoying myself in the vicinity of that tank after some indulgence.
Loose_Lips Magical posting. I love SFA. Venus and Serena is peak song writing. Agreed. I'll play from start to finish.
Reggie_Perrin Love SFA. From the first time I heard the strings on Juxtaposed I was hooked. Great choice.
fuzzy Reggie_Perrin That's a lovely song Reg. As is, it's not the end of the world. The daughter had them both on last night in the kitchen 👍
oneallanclarke fuzzy Starting with a sample by Wendy and Bonnie’s “By the Sea” Don’t know what the album’s like yet but they have good taste
Placid Also managed to sample one lyric from “Super Rich Kids” by Steely Dan and turn it into a 10 minute live acid experience wig out with insane costumes. Best thing Ive seen live.
fuzzy Almost didn't get released as a single until McGee was like - How much do Steeley Dan want? Fuck it, we'll pay em. That's some live footage 😎 ❤️ Would love to blast that out next to the tory party conference building on a big sound system
Odd_Job Great choice FD. Any SFA LP is essential is far as I’m concerned. As well as the LPs and everyone’s favourites mentioned in the thread, honourable mention must go to both the Ice Hockey Hair EP and its title track, it’s a beauty tune.
