Firstly I have not once named labour in this thread and I have certainly not stated that they are the road to utopia which you are accusing me of. Stop seeing what you want to see for sake of argument and actually listen to someone else for a fucking change.

Nor have I written off the entire private sector. I said they need to get their house in order. If they paid their fucking taxes as they should and did not gamble with people's hard earned it'd be a start and there'd be a lot more to pay for the public sector.

And today I used a (public sector) doctor and nurse before I bought a shedload of ale with my private sector bank card. I would have rather have paid cash but as I said earlier, the banking industry in connivance with public sector enterprises have made it possible to manage your money any other way. So wrong again.

And I don't begrudge them a second of their wealth. But, sadly, the bad practices characterise far too many of the successful companies and enterprises here and abroad.
The model of parcel and food delivery sums up modern capitalism. There can and should be a balance.
And the violin reference was for the 1% not the 90-odd that bailed them out.

It comes to this for me in the end. When you look at the great reforming governments, I'd argue Labour's direction of travel had a greater social utility than the Conservative's. So they get my vote.

Loose_Lips Starmer may break the cycle to an extent in that he seems more of a creation of circumstances than a particular political model or approach. We've had ever more extreme and, arguably, presidential leaders. Someone a little drier, dare we say dull, might be what's needed. I'd love a more radical approach in some areas, but his difficulty will be the economic, social and political mess he's inheriting.
