They might be back in, in 4 years. Maybe this is why this election has been called early?
Get Labour in, watch them stumble for four years whilst they fix nothing, and then get re-elected off the back of a rehash of “Labour isn’t working”.
They will then have a 10-year window of 2008-onwards style scapegoating of Labour for all of the catastrophic fuckups that were actually a mix of tory incompetence / corruption, plus extraneous global factors (Covid, Ukraine, Israel, climate change, etc. etc.)
Chalices don’t come much more poisoned…
