New conductor on the train this month. She’s arrogant and doesn’t appear to like passengers. She gives the announcements out over the PA which she shouts into so loudly I’m not convinced she needs it to make herself heard. Her section is the back of the train.
At the start of the month her announcements usually ended with, ‘Walk forward to find a seat. Plenty of seats at the front of the train.’
I moved from the back to the front to get away from her after a few days. It’s gradually got busier up here at the front of the train.
She’s just finished her last announcement with, ‘Plenty of seats at the rear of the train.’
I can’t make my mind up as to if this a genius at work, lightening her load while appearing to do her job or is it just someone who’s not very nice but genuinely thinks she’s doing a good job.
Given it’s NJ Transit I’m inclined to think it’s the later but there’s a small part of me thinks I might be in the presence of greatness on my morning commute (all be it several carriages removed).
