Van Bommel, good arrers. Mark Noble n all, but he'll probably get a shite Premiership team after him.
DavidHarveysMonkey
both would be excellent. can't see VB dropping out of champions league AND top divisions.

Van Bommel - just signed with Milan and won the Scudetto and looking at the age of the Milan side he's a young 'un.Scholes, i think he'd be a liablity and would spend more time in the stands than on the pitch, great player mind..In reality ... Eustace from Watford, Montgomery form the Blunts ? My dream buy is Quasimodo from Everton.or the lid that end up at Wigan ... mate of Snodgrass, Macarthur ?Someone witha presence on the pitch and the ability to inspire those around him by his actions ...

I've said this before and being a boring old fucker i'll say it again, the sort of player we need is a very rare breed, it wasn't always so, even Halifax Town used to have a string puller in Paul Hendrie (30 years ago mind).

Jesus, some of the names mentioned on this thread are pure fantasy..Van Bommel ? Scholes? Ferguson?.Can we keep it real please and wait to see when most shite teams issue their "released" list!Thats the store we'll be shopping in.

Ferguson crossed my mind as an ideal signing . While Bates is in charge of the purse strings our wish list is in realms of fantasy.

Shaun Derry, another reason to hate The Poison Dwarf, if we'd kept Derry we might have been strolling it this year. Coulda shoulda woulda. Might be a bit too old now, can't see him lasting long in the top div.
Mokhtar_Dahari_Forever
Preston's Eire international centreback Sean St Ledger was mentioned.

You're forgetting our massive pulling power, people queuing up to play for us. Messi offered to come for £500 a week and a Sunday dinner at the River Plate every week, but Simon didn't think he'd fit the formation.
Raposa
Why sign Messi when you can have St.Ledger from Preston?

Killa being given an improved offer though. Fingers crossed for that one eh....
